Caught in the act, almost

October 14, 2016

becoming-werewolfHe was through– and already wolfish! She couldn’t get close enough to touch him. But oh, so close!  She could swear it was Wylie. She could smell his smell.

What had happened to make him want this new form, this new life as a wolf? Was it by choice? Or was he being coerced? And if so, by whom?

Was it Wylie Becoming a Werewolf?

October 14, 2016

becoming-werewolf-3-smallHalf herself, half bat, Lucy Furr caught sight of a man as she flew. Could it be her missing husband, Wylie Furr? He was flying too–toward that weird door she’d seen before–a portal of transformation. She sped up and tried to catch his feet before he got through entirely. She had to see if it was him. Or just some random dude fulfilling some random wish.

Ever feel crazy? Like you’re going to do something you’ll regret?

Here’s some advice from Vampire Grandma, Berry Knotwell: “When I’m about to act on some nutball impulse, I rush to the library instead. Nothing like a good book to cure the crazies. Way better than pharmaceuticals.”

Besides, what’s more inviting than sitting out on an October night under a full moon with a spooky book. Or any good book.

Berry wildly recommends the following list (and stay tuned for more delicious recommendations):

Never Let Me Go, Kazuo Ishiguo

LaRose, Louise Erdrich

Future Home of the Living God, Louise Erdrich

Jesus’ Son, Denis Johnson

Barkskins, Annie Proulx

Collusion, Luke Harding

The Handmaid’s Tale, Margaret Atwood

Jane Bites Back, Michael Thomas Ford

Blood Sucking Fiends: A Love Story, Christopher Moore
