The Wolf lab is committed to cultivating a safe and productive environment at SUNY Cortland for undergraduate students to engage in research experiences. We are further committed to embracing diversity and seek to be inclusive of anyone interested in STEM, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender or sexual identity, immigration status, finances, health, or disability. We understand that the Chemistry field is better equipped to face modern challenges with diverse minds from all walks of life working together. We are excited to welcome students here at SUNY Cortland to our lab, and help them grow as students, scientists, and people.
Safety is always a priority, and we encourage a safety culture that recognizes and accounts for the dangers inherent in a Chemistry lab. This includes proper PPE, awareness of relevant dangers and appropriate actions, and regular discussion of best safety practices.
Scientific ethics is also at the forefront of what we do. We acknowledge and are committed to the importance of honest presentation of data, the peer review process, and proper citation practices.
Recognizing the essential nature of diverse voices in science, and the barriers that continue to be faced by marginalized communities, we welcome students from all backgrounds and promise to cultivate the environment most conducive to their success. Further, we are eager to share science with a wide range of communities through outreach and education initiatives.
Finally, we recognize that the scientists in our lab are people first and aim to prioritize the health and well-being of members and the community. This means cultivating a safe and welcoming environment, and a positive attitude towards work-life balance.
We look forward to working with interested folks, and encourage you to reach out with any questions or concerns!
