The goal of our lab is the study of bacterial enzymes involved in interesting chemical transformations using a structure-function approach. The unusual chemistry found in bacterial pathways offers us the opportunity to probe novel mechanisms. This research is performed using a combination of biochemical assays and protein X-ray crystallography.
