For many years, Dr. Hicks was the co-advisor of the SUNY Cortland chemistry club. We have been recognized each year with awards from the American Chemical Society, including Commendable and Honorable Mention Awards.<\/p>\n

More recently, members of the Hicks lab have traveled to The College of Wooster to take part in the BWiSER summer program<\/a> for middle school aged girls. We developed a 4 day workshop where the campers performed novel research to isolate and study the ability of environmental bacteria to degrade nicotinic acid.<\/p>\n
